Autumn is my favourite season, and this year, I want to try to mix things up when it comes to Autumn Fashion. Usually, when buying clothes for myself, I tend to stick to skinny jeans, and t-shirts (long sleeved ones in Winter). Or I’ll wear leggings and a tunic if I want to make a bit more of an effort.
Making More Of An Effort:
One of the perks of working from home is that I don’t have to wear office clothes. I do still like to make an effort if I am going to a meeting or fed up of being a slummy mummy. I’m a UK size 16, so edging into the realm of plus size, but still able to buy clothes in most places.
I have decided to put together 3 professional type outfits for this Autumn Winter Season based on what I have seen so far. My friends would say I am very much a High Street Shopper, and like to get good value for money from my clothes. It’s definitely true that I try to pick pieces which I can mix and match, to get more than one look from each piece.
My Autumn Fashion Picks:
In some ways, you could call this a capsule wardrobe. Four new items of clothes which make 3 entirely brand new outfits for this season. Here goes nothing then…
I love these Mini Check Wide Leg Trousers. They are £32 from Very. Check is very big this season, and while I love it, I’m not really confident enough to wear big bold check prints. Wide leg trousers are flattering for those of us with a larger figure, and the high waist, again helps to pull everything together. I think the button detail is super cute too, and the pockets are a big plus from me!
I fell in love with these black check print wide leg trousers as soon as I saw them. They are £28 in Debenhams, and from the Principles range. They are pull on, so will be nice and comfy. The wide leg style is my favourite, as it’s flattering for a larger figure and really comfortable as well.
This white knitted top is down to £8 in Sainsburys at the moment. I think it is perfect for the office. I am terrible for wearing a jumper and then having the sleeves pushed up all day. That leads to the cuffs getting all saggy. Not a problem with this top. It’ll go perfectly with both black leggings or a skirt too – win – win! It’ll also be nice and cosy on a day off, teamed with black skinny jeans!
I have always been a big fan of Lipsy, and used to shop there all the time when I was in my 20s. Nowadays, I don’t buy much of their range, but this blouse really caught my eye. This top can be dressed up or down. In my opinion, this blouse is perfect for both a meeting or drinks after work. It can be paired with both the black trousers and the grey ones too, so it is super versatile. What do you think? It is available from Next for £28. I think it’s great, and will see you through Autumn and into Winter. That’s why it’s made it into my Autumn Fashion Picks!
You’re getting 3 outfits for the price of 2, as all 4 of these items can be mixed and matched. If you bought all 4 pieces, you’d be spending £96. That works out at £32 per outfit – not too bad in my opinion.
What do you think of my Autumn Fashion Picks? Would you wear these outfits?
